Summary
All teenagers have problems, but few of them can match those of Aislinn, who has the power to see faeries. Quite understandably, she wishes that she could share her friends' obliviousness and tries hard to avoid these invisible intruders. But one faery in particular refuses to leave her alone. Keenan the Summer King is convinced beyond all reasoning that Aislinn is the queen he has been seeking for nine centuries. What's a 21st-century girl to do when she's stalked by a suitor nobody else can see? A debut fantasy romance for the ages.

My  Thoughts
Wicked Lovely was an awesome book and depicted faeries exactly the way I like them,  dangerous, twisted and completely un-trustworthy. None of that glittery winged girl that loves flowers and feeds you morning dew crap. This book has and edgy, dark vibe that I fell in love with from the start. The descriptions are detailed making the scenery and characters vivid, and the book easy to fall in to.
Now with that out of the way, I am hopelessly in love with Seth. I mean I'm sweating this guy like a girl dressed in a one piece snowsuit jogging in Ecuador. Tall, lean, shaggy black hair, piercings and mysterious to boot. Aislinn is cool but for me everyone in the book pales in comparison to Seth. So, moving on, since your probably gagging by now.
The book has a few predictable moments but it didn't take away from the story. With a quick pace, interesting mythology and well developed characters Wicked Lovely was fun to read and has left me hungry for more Melissa Marr. I've already bought the second and third books in the series, Ink Exchange and Fragile Eternity. Her story writing is fantastic and I'm confident I won't be let down. I'm giving the book 5 out of 5.

  1. Loved your review. Happy to see you enjoyed it too. No gagging here, I was crazy addicted to Seth throughout this one as well.

  2. I just finished Wicked Lovely and I completely agree with you! I loved Seth, and how dedicated to Aislinn he was, even though she saw faeries and whatnot. BUT I can't help but WANT Aislinn to be with Keenan. Their the Summer King and Queen for god's sake! Their suppose to be together! But no! Aislinn has to be with Seth, a human. And Keenan has to be with Donia, who turns into the complete opposite of him by the end of the book. Definitely not what I would've done but I still loved it none-the-less. Haven't gotten the second book yet but I want it!!

  3. Hmmm, I didn't know what to think of these books. Maybe I'll try them out. Seth does sound rather dreamy.

LOL!!! You totally convinced me there! I actually read a pretty negative review of Wicked Lovely some time ago and so I've been staying away from this book. Now I think I should get myself a copy! :)

    Thanks for your thoughts!
Also, I am grabbing your button :) <3
